Shirelands

A love for the beauty of nature and the mystery of The Marches area first drew Tracey and Hilary together. They are constantly amazed at the extraordinary scenery that surrounds them, and in 'Shirelands' they celebrate their joint love of the natural landscape. Tracey’s stunning photography - often described as “painting with light” - is brought to life alongside Hilary’s perceptive and imaginative verse. See latent landscapes emerging, mystical, ethereal figures hidden within nature, dark gothic structures, sunrises, sunsets, misty vales .... and so much more that you may not have realised was there.

Shirelands is a beautiful full colour, gold-foil-spined hardback, comprising 96 pages, 44 individual poems and photographs, size 220 x 245mm, case bound in aubergine Wibalin, with contrasting mandarin endpapers which will be carefully selected to complement the art featured on the dust jacket: beautiful keepsakes.

South Shropshire and the Welsh Borders are home to some of the loveliest scenery in the world. From where the sun rises over the rolling Stretton Hills, to where it sets behind the rugged Welsh mountains, there lies a land steeped in beauty and mystery, folklore and history. 'Shirelands' is a celebration of the beauty of this enduring world - so often unseen by those who don't know where, or how, to look.
